Initiated in November 2025 by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) alongside the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the programme aims to provide visitors with clear, verifiable assurance that tourism businesses meet rigorous safety standards. Certification and Industry Integration
The "Trusted Thailand" initiative assesses thousands of operators across the country, from Bangkok's urban centres to Phuket's beaches and Chiang Mai's cultural sites. This transparency drive, particularly important for segments like Chinese travellers, allows visitors to identify certified businesses easily. Major booking platforms, including Agoda, Trip.com, and Meituan, have partnered with the programme, enabling travellers to filter for "Trusted Thailand"-certified accommodation before their arrival. Agoda has further integrated safety guides, starting with flood preparedness, into its City Guides via QR codes, moving critical safety information into the booking process itself.
Enhanced Tourist Police Application
Complementing the certification, the Thailand Tourist Police application provides immediate assistance on the ground. Available free on iOS, Android, and Huawei devices without requiring a Thai SIM card, the app connects users directly to the Tourist Police Call Hotline (1155) via an SOS function, with reported average response times of approximately five minutes. It also features live chat support in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian, alongside real-time updates on higher-risk areas, incident reporting with translation, and location services for nearby police stations and essential services. The "i lert u" browser-based platform offers a similar function.
