Visa has partnered with GigSky to provide complimentary international eSIM data plans for eligible Visa Signature and Visa Infinite credit cardholders, reducing mobile roaming costs for travellers across over 175 destinations.
New Complimentary Data Benefit for Visa Cardholders
Eligible Visa Signature and Visa Infinite credit cardholders can now access complimentary international mobile data through a partnership between Visa and GigSky, a global mobile data provider. As reported by The Points Guy on July 23, 2026, this programme allows cardholders to acquire a digital SIM card (eSIM) for use in more than 175 countries, bypassing traditional carrier international roaming charges. This development offers a practical solution for staying connected while travelling internationally, whether for navigation or communication, without incurring additional fees.
Benefit Tiers and Coverage
The complimentary data allowance varies by card tier. Visa Signature cardholders receive 1GB of international data, valid for 15 days, redeemable once per calendar year. They also qualify for a 20% discount on any additional GigSky data plans purchased. Visa Infinite cardholders are allocated 3GB of international data, also valid for 15 days once per calendar year, alongside a 30% reduction on subsequent data plan acquisitions. This data can be utilised across GigSky's extensive network, covering numerous popular global destinations.
Accessing and Utilising the eSIM Plan
Claiming the complimentary GigSky eSIM data involves a straightforward process via the GigSky mobile application, available on both Apple App Store and Google Play. Users must download the app, create or log into their account, locate the Visa offer, and then verify their eligible Visa Signature or Visa Infinite card. Once redeemed, the complimentary plan can be installed on a compatible device and activated up to one year later, prior to or during an international trip.
