Further amenities comprise a theatre, a dedicated game room, and a tattoo studio, alongside other diverse entertainment spaces available on site.
Marriott Adds Washington, D.C. Luxury Property
Marriott International has integrated The Potomac Hotel in Washington, D.C., into its luxury lifestyle Autograph Collection. This follows the hotel's rebranding from Salamander Washington DC, according to a Wednesday news release. Pyramid Global Hospitality now manages the 373-room property as part of its transition.
Henderson Park, which acquired the building in 2022, retains ownership, while Salamander Collection Founder and CEO Sheila Johnson remains a minority partner. Located by the Potomac River, the hotel offers 38,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. It also features a two-level spa, a fitness centre, and a heated indoor pool for guest use.
Nick Weber, CEO of Henderson Park, stated the evolution extends investments made to elevate every aspect of the guest stay.

The new properties include the 109-key Sky Rock Sedona, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Sedona, Arizona, and the 87-suite Steward Santa Barbara, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Santa Barbara, California.
Other additions are the 160-room Hotel Northland, Autograph Collection in Green Bay, Wisconsin; the 93-room Hotel Elkhart, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Elkhart, Indiana; and the 96-room Le Méridien St. Louis Downtown in St. Louis, Missouri. All five properties offer unique on-site dining and gathering areas, with some providing wellness programming.
Market Implications and Future Outlook
These recent developments demonstrate sustained investment and strategic expansion within the United States hospitality sector. The entry of Accor into Las Vegas introduces a new major player to a significant global leisure and entertainment market.
Marriott’s continued growth of its Autograph Collection reveals consistent demand for luxury lifestyle properties in key urban centres, such as Washington, D.C. Furthermore, the portfolio expansions by Crestline Hotels & Resorts and First Hospitality highlight the ongoing importance of third-party management companies in diverse leisure and business destinations across the country.
These moves offer travellers increased accommodation choices across various segments and locations. The collective activity shows confidence in the enduring strength of the North American travel market, suggesting continued brand competition and property development in the coming period as operators seek to capture market share.
