Bangkok to Host World Travel & Culture Expo 2026 with TAT, TCT, and Grandeur Group
Bangkok will host the World Travel & Culture Expo 2026 (WTCE 2026) from 29–31 October at IMPACT Mueang Thong Thani, organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT), and Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group. The event aims to drive tourism, trade, and investment across ASEAN and global markets.

WTCE 2026 Set for October, Reinforcing Thailand's ASEAN Hub Role
The World Travel & Culture Expo 2026 (WTCE 2026) is scheduled for 29–31 October at IMPACT Mueang Thong Thani in Bangkok, Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT), and Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group jointly announced the event on 22 July 2026. WTCE 2026 seeks to stimulate tourism, trade, and investment, thereby strengthening Thailand's position as an ASEAN centre for tourism and entertainment. The expo also reflects the ongoing Thai-Chinese partnership, building on 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, according to TAT Newsroom.
Connecting Industries and Driving Economic Growth
Mr. Pasakorn Rangsiwatanasak, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, stated on 22 July 2026, that WTCE 2026 demonstrates Thailand's commitment to using tourism, culture, sport, entertainment, and creative industries as drivers for economic growth. The event will foster investment, deepen international cooperation, and reinforce Thailand's role as a gateway connecting ASEAN with global markets. The expo's 2026 iteration, themed “Smartly Link the World,” will feature five specialised expositions, covering amusement parks, billiards, LED display technology, film and television equipment, and intellectual property within the creative industries.
Leveraging China Market Strength and TAT's Strategic Direction
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, noted on 22 July 2026, that WTCE 2026 advances TAT’s “Value over Volume” strategy, which prioritises meaningful activities, sustainability, and quality tourism income. TAT will promote international participation and facilitate connections between Thai businesses and investors, technology providers, and creative-industry partners across regional and global markets. The expo aligns with China's “Thousands of Sails Go to Sea” policy, which encourages Chinese enterprises to expand into Thailand, China, and ASEAN for tourism, business, and investment. China remains Thailand’s primary international visitor market, with 2,877,039 arrivals recorded from 1 January to 20 July 2026, an increase of 14.76 per cent year-on-year, as reported by TAT Newsroom.
Implications for Regional Tourism and Investment
The WTCE 2026 provides a strategic platform for industry stakeholders to forge new partnerships and investment agreements, particularly between Thai and Chinese entities. With TAT forecasting over 5.13 million Chinese visitors and more than 288.385 billion Baht in tourism revenue for Thailand in 2026, the expo aims to convert this market strength into broader tourism and business collaborations across ASEAN. For travellers, the event could influence future offerings in regional amusement, entertainment, and cultural sectors. Industry professionals should monitor outcomes for new investment opportunities and shifts in regional tourism development strategies.
