Clear Expands TSA PreCheck Enrollment at US Airports, Offers Bundled Savings
Travellers in the United States can now sign up for or renew TSA PreCheck at dozens of airports and hundreds of retail sites via Clear, with options to bundle memberships for cost savings.

Expanded Enrollment Network
Clear, a private expedited security service, has significantly expanded its network for TSA PreCheck enrollment across the United States. Since becoming an official TSA PreCheck enrollment provider in 2024, Clear now offers these services at dozens of US airports, supplementing hundreds of existing retail locations.
This expansion allows travellers to either enrol in the fast-track government security programme or renew their existing memberships directly through Clear. The service is designed to streamline the application process for those seeking faster passage through airport security checkpoints.
Bundled Membership Offers
Travellers can opt to bundle a five-year TSA PreCheck membership with the first year of Clear+ for a total cost of $219, according to Clear. Given that Clear+ typically costs $219 annually on its own, this arrangement effectively provides the TSA PreCheck enrollment at no additional charge for those who also desire Clear+ membership.
The process generally begins with an online application, followed by an in-person visit to a participating Clear location to finalise registration. No appointment is necessary for the in-person completion, though applicants must present required documentation.
Programme Distinctions and Alternatives
While both TSA PreCheck and Clear aim to expedite airport security, they remain separate programmes. TSA PreCheck, a government service, allows vetted members to use dedicated faster security lanes, while Clear is a private, membership-based service that helps flyers bypass the initial queue to reach the front of the TSA line.
Clear is one of three authorised TSA PreCheck enrollment providers; the other third-party companies are Idemia and Telos. Enrollment and renewal fees vary by provider, prompting travellers to compare options. Additionally, certain credit cards offer statement credits that can cover the costs of either TSA PreCheck or Clear+ memberships.
Implications for Global Travellers
Although these expedited security services primarily benefit domestic air travel within the United States, Asian business travellers and frequent tourists visiting the US could find enrolling in TSA PreCheck via Clear advantageous. Utilising these services can significantly reduce queue times at US airport security checkpoints, enhancing the overall travel experience.
The model of private firms integrating with government security programmes to improve passenger flow may also offer insights for aviation hubs and travel technology companies across Asia, as they consider future enhancements for their own security and passenger processing systems.
