Denū Hotel & Spa Opens in Phoenix

Denū Hotel & Spa commenced operations in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, on 9 October 2026, marking a new addition to the Meritage Collection. This 236-room property is the result of a collaborative venture between Pacific Hospitality Group, Berger Holding, and JWG Investments, an affiliate of Sunbelt Holdings.

The new establishment positions itself steps from the Phoenix Convention Center, alongside the city’s prominent arts, culture, sports, and entertainment venues, aiming to cater to both business and leisure travellers seeking a central location in the city’s dynamic and rapidly evolving urban core. Its opening reflects a strategic expansion for its developers within a key US market.

Wellness Focus and Urban Amenities

The Denū Hotel & Spa distinguishes itself with a comprehensive array of lifestyle amenities. Central to its offering is the Solstone Holistic Spa, a facility inspired by traditional hammams, which provides guided thermal treatments and various restorative services.

Beyond the spa, guests have access to additional wellness programmes, a rooftop plunge pool for relaxation, and dedicated event spaces suitable for corporate gatherings or private celebrations. The hotel’s culinary landscape includes Sartén Kitchen & Bar, offering diverse dining options, and Nidos Rooftop Bar, providing a vantage point over the city.

These facilities are designed to create a distinctive and intentional offering for both visitors and the local community, as stated by Pacific Hospitality Group.

Strategic Expansion for Pacific Hospitality Group

Garrett Busch, president of Pacific Hospitality Group, highlighted the Denū Hotel & Spa’s opening as a significant milestone for the company. He noted that the new property extends the Meritage Collection’s footprint into Downtown Phoenix, a market identified by the group as possessing substantial long-term potential.

Busch emphasised the company’s approach to developing distinctive properties that are closely connected to their specific destinations. The aim is to create a hotel that responds to Phoenix's energy while simultaneously offering a restorative and intentional environment for both visitors and the local community, aligning with the city’s dynamic growth trajectory.

Asian Industry Outlook on Urban Wellness

The launch of Denū Hotel & Spa in Phoenix, with its focus on luxury and integrated amenities like a hammam-inspired spa and rooftop pool, presents a model for urban hospitality development.

While the opening does not directly affect Asian travel routes or immediate investment, Asian hotel developers and investment funds, particularly those specialising in luxury and wellness-centric properties, may closely observe its market performance.

Success in a growing US metropolitan centre such as Phoenix could validate similar strategies for high-end, locally-integrated wellness hotels in comparable rapidly developing Asian cities.

For instance, operators in markets like Manila or Jakarta could evaluate the Denū model for potential application in their own urban regeneration projects, influencing capital allocation and design choices for upcoming developments over the next 12 to 18 months.
