DFW Terminal D Hotel Refurbished

The Grand Hyatt DFW, directly connected to Terminal D at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), completed a significant renovation in February 2026. The hotel, which first opened with 298 rooms, underwent its latest refurbishment after a previous refresh in 2011.

The recent project commenced in July 2025 and concluded earlier this year, converting conference suites into additional guest rooms and bringing the property's total capacity to 315 rooms and suites. Standard rooms are notably spacious, measuring 450 square feet.

The renovation introduced a brighter, more contemporary aesthetic, incorporating greens, blues, and browns, which hotel management states are intended to evoke Texas prairie landscapes. Aviation-themed details, such as plane artwork, relevant books, wing-shaped tables, and carpet patterns inspired by airport terminals, have also been integrated into the design. Exterior soundproofing was a key focus, ensuring quiet interiors despite direct runway views.

Guest Amenities and Airport Access

Direct access to Terminal D check-in is a primary convenience for guests, with dedicated elevators linking guest floors to the terminal level, bypassing the main lobby. Travellers arriving at or departing from other DFW terminals can reach the hotel via the airport's SkyTrain system.

However, guests arriving at DFW with checked luggage at a different terminal face a logistical challenge: after collecting bags landside, they must use the Terminal Link bus, as re-entry to security for SkyTrain access is not possible. The hotel features an outdoor rooftop pool offering views of the runways.

A former top-floor gym space has been repurposed into the "Flight Deck" event venue, which includes both indoor and outdoor areas adjacent to the pool. Each guest room is equipped with a 65-inch television, automatic blackout sheers and shades, ample power outlets and USB charging ports, bathrobes, and an illy espresso machine. Some rooms also include an electronic video peephole, providing a wider and brighter view than traditional peepholes.

As a Category 5 property within the World of Hyatt loyalty programme, a standard room requires 15,000 to 35,000 points per night, depending on demand.

This categorisation means the hotel does not qualify for Category 1-4 free night certificates. Hyatt does not impose resort or destination fees; these are waived for all award nights and for Globalist-tier members on paid stays. Registered guests benefit from complimentary self-parking in the Terminal D garage, while valet parking services commence at $24.

Globalist members receive enhanced benefits, including a breakfast allowance, which a recent guest reported as $35 per person and applicable to room service. For one guest, the hotel fully removed a breakfast charge of approximately $79.
