Hilton Debuts Curio Collection Brand in Jiangsu, China
Hilton has commenced operations at Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton, marking the brand's first presence in China's Jiangsu Province. This opening expands Hilton's lifestyle portfolio within the Asia Pacific region, situated within the Wuxi Center 66 complex.

Curio Collection Arrives in Jiangsu
Hilton recently commenced operations at Xi Zhe Wuxi, Curio Collection by Hilton, establishing the brand's inaugural presence in Jiangsu Province, China. The property, located within the Wuxi Center 66 complex in Wuxi's cultural heart, is managed by Hilton and was developed by Hang Lung Properties.
This opening introduces 105 guest rooms and suites to the region's accommodation capacity. The hotel's debut reflects Hilton's broader strategy to expand its lifestyle brands globally; for instance, the Toll House Hotel Los Gatos in California, US, joined its Tapestry Collection last month.
This strategic growth demonstrates Hilton's commitment to increasing its footprint in key markets, particularly within the Asia Pacific region, by introducing distinct hospitality concepts tailored to local contexts and cultural heritage.
Blending Heritage with Modern Stays
The Xi Zhe Wuxi property integrates a restored heritage residence with a modern building, a design choice intended to offer a unique stay.
Winnie Zhu, the hotel's general manager, stated that the hotel blends the "timeless charm of a Republic-era residence with modern travel." Ms Zhu highlighted the hotel's location in Wuxi's cultural centre, surrounded by historic residences, as an attribute that allows guests to slow their pace and immerse themselves in an "elegant Jiangnan setting where the past and present co-exist," providing a tranquil retreat.
Alexander Shockley, Hilton Asia Pacific Lifestyle & Collection Brands senior director, elaborated on the brand's wider approach. Mr Shockley noted that contemporary travellers seek stays that feel personal, authentic, and deeply connected to their destination.
He affirmed that Hilton's lifestyle brands are developed to meet these expectations, offering differentiated stays that enable guests to express themselves, explore local culture, and connect meaningfully. He added that the company's expanding lifestyle portfolio in China strengthens the positioning of these brands and brings distinctive stays to travellers nationwide.
Facilities and Market Outlook
The hotel's amenities include SANWEI Bistro, which serves local Wuxi and Jiangnan-inspired cuisine using modern cooking methods. Another dining option, Now and Then – French Bistro & Bar, is also available. For cultural engagement, an Artist Center is situated in the lobby, designed to host various programmes.
Recreational facilities comprise four swimming pools—indoor, outdoor, hydrotherapy, and children's pools—alongside a dedicated poolside bar. Further guest conveniences include a 24-hour fitness centre, multi-purpose meeting rooms, and pet-friendly services.
The introduction of the Curio Collection by Hilton in Jiangsu Province demonstrates Hilton's continued investment in China's hospitality sector. This expansion provides travellers with a new premium accommodation choice that emphasises local cultural immersion and distinctive design.
For the industry, the opening reflects ongoing confidence in the demand for upscale, culturally specific hotel offerings within tier-two Chinese cities, potentially driving further development in similar markets across the Asia Pacific region.
