Garner Brand Debuts in Central Asia

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has finalised an agreement to introduce its Garner brand to Uzbekistan with the opening of the Garner Hotel Tashkent. This new 100-room property is slated to commence operations in September 2027, marking the brand's initial entry into both the country and the wider Central Asian region.

The hotel is being developed in collaboration with Silk Road Inn, with construction already underway on Temiryulchilar Street in the capital city. This expansion builds on IHG's existing presence in Tashkent, where the global hospitality group currently operates several properties across various market segments.

Addressing Growing Midscale Demand

Willemijn Geels, IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice-president, highlighted the significance of the Garner Hotel Tashkent agreement, describing it as a key achievement for both IHG and the Garner brand.

Geels noted that the hotel will provide a distinct, high-quality, and budget-friendly accommodation option in a market that is seeing increasing demand for internationally recognised midscale lodging.

Shokhrukh Khasanov, CEO of Silk Road Inn, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that Garner's emphasis on quality, comfort, and value aligns well with the requirements of travellers visiting Tashkent. Khasanov added that this agreement represents an important progression for the project.

Strategic Location for Travellers

The Garner Hotel Tashkent's location on Temiryulchilar Street is designed to offer convenient access for guests. IHG stated that the property will be close to Tashkent International Airport, the city centre, key transport infrastructure, and major commercial districts.

This positioning aims to serve both business and leisure travellers seeking practical and comfortable stays within the capital. The Garner brand, launched by IHG in September 2023, focuses on delivering essential amenities and a reliable guest experience at an accessible price point, catering to the needs of modern travellers who prioritise value without compromising on quality.

IHG's Expanding Regional Footprint

The introduction of the Garner brand in Uzbekistan comes as IHG continues to expand its portfolio across Asia and the Middle East. Just last month, in September 2026, IHG announced a separate agreement with Nooa Holdings to launch its Garner Hotels conversion brand in the Middle East.

This dual expansion shows IHG's strategic focus on growing its midscale offerings in emerging markets across these regions.

For Central Asian travellers and the hospitality sector, the entry of international brands like Garner signifies increased choice and competition, potentially driving improvements in service standards and value propositions for visitors to Tashkent and beyond. The September 2027 opening will provide the first concrete data on market reception.
