ITE HCMC 2026: Vietnam's Largest Travel Expo Stages Record-Breaking 20th Edition
The Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) 2026 will stage its largest edition. This year's event marks its 20th anniversary. It convenes a record number of exhibitors and international buyers. The expo reinforces its role in regional tourism development.

Record Scale for Vietnam's Premier Travel Event
The Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) 2026 is set for its most extensive iteration. This year commemorates its 20th anniversary. The event will run from August 27 to 29, 2026. It takes place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center. The theme for this edition is “Vibrant Connections – Global Destinations”.
Organisers expect over 520 exhibitors and brands. More than 260 international buyers will attend. The expo projects over 21,000 pre-scheduled business appointments. Around 30,000 visitors are anticipated. This includes 600 international delegates and 60 international media representatives.
International Participation and Regional Collaboration
The hosted buyers programme will welcome 260 buyers. These participants come from over 40 countries and territories. This initiative is Vietnam's only programme of its kind. Key companies represented include Tui Group, Dertour, and Flight Centre Travel Group. American Express Global Business Travel, Trip.com Group, and Luxury Escapes will also participate.
Beyond commercial meetings, the expo will host three tourism ministers’ gatherings. These fall under the CLV, ACMECS, and CLMV cooperation frameworks. This demonstrates the event’s role as a platform for regional tourism collaboration.
Industry Focus and Public Engagement
Industry forums will address critical topics. These include MICE, destination branding, and artificial intelligence. Medical tourism and travel technology will also feature. Organisations like UN Tourism and PATA will contribute. The Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Google, and Mastercard are also involved. EuroCham will participate in discussions.
The exhibition will also open to consumers. Public access begins on the afternoon of August 27. This segment will feature destination showcases and cultural performances. Tourism promotions and travel offers will also be available to the public.
Strategic Importance for Vietnam's Tourism Sector
Pham Huy Binh, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, commented on the expo. He stated the 20th edition shows the event's growth. This includes its scale, quality, and international standing. He highlighted public-private partnerships. These partnerships strengthen tourism development.
Mr Binh noted the event benefits both the travel industry and the wider community. This demonstrates Vietnam's increasing prominence in the global tourism landscape. The expo serves as a key platform for industry players to engage with the Southeast Asian market.
