Lekondo Secures US$3 Million for Global Fashion Platform
New York-based fashion technology firm Lekondo, founded by Malaysian entrepreneur Yeng Tan, has raised US$3 million. The funding will advance its platform, which facilitates global outfit sharing and provides cultural style insights for users worldwide.

Investment Boosts Fashion Technology
Lekondo, a New York-headquartered fashion technology startup, has successfully secured US$3 million in investment. The company, established by Malaysian entrepreneur Yeng Tan, announced the funding round. Key investors include Verdict Capital, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) SR, and DG Daiwa Ventures.
This capital injection is designated to support the continued development and growth of Lekondo's innovative fashion platform. The investment underscores a rising interest in technology solutions that analyse and disseminate global style preferences.
This financial backing aims to strengthen Lekondo's operational capabilities and expand its reach within the digital fashion sector.
Platform Focuses on Global Style Discovery
Lekondo's platform allows users to post their daily outfits and create digital closets. A core feature enables individuals to explore diverse dressing styles from various cultures across the globe. Since its launch in January 2026, the platform has seen rapid adoption. It currently serves over 100,000 users spanning more than 50 countries.
Yeng Tan, Lekondo's co-founder and chief executive officer, stated the platform prioritises actual clothing worn by people. This approach differs from relying solely on purchasing or browsing data to understand fashion preferences. Tan suggests this method reveals richer insights into taste.
Cultural Exchange and Travel Relevance
Tan noted his upbringing in Malaysia’s multicultural environment significantly influenced Lekondo’s concept. He explained that growing up in Malaysia exposed him to continuous cultural exchange, particularly evident in food traditions where various influences borrowed from one another. Tan believes fashion operates similarly.
The platform's emphasis on global style discovery offers a new dimension for travellers and industry professionals. It provides a means to observe and understand local fashion trends and cultural influences before or during international visits. This could enhance cultural engagement and inform travel-related retail decisions, connecting global style with the travel experience.
