Lemon Tree Hotels Adds Premier Property in Visakhapatnam, India
Lemon Tree Hotels has confirmed plans for a new 110-room Lemon Tree Premier hotel in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This addition, operated by Carnation Hotels, expands the group's presence in the region, bringing its total operating and pipeline hotels in Andhra Pradesh to 13.

New Visakhapatnam Premier Property
Lemon Tree Hotels has signed an agreement for a new Lemon Tree Premier hotel in Visakhapatnam, India, the company confirmed. This upscale property will feature 110 rooms and will be managed by Carnation Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels' wholly-owned subsidiary.
The new establishment expands the group's presence in Andhra Pradesh, bringing its total portfolio in the state to six operational hotels and seven additional properties in its development pipeline. Within Visakhapatnam, the new hotel will join the company’s existing properties: Keys Select by Lemon Tree Hotels in Daba Gardens and Keys Lite by Lemon Tree Hotels in Gajuwaka.
This development demonstrates Lemon Tree Hotels' ongoing strategy to broaden its offerings in key Indian markets, catering to varied traveller preferences.
The company plans for the hotel to include a banquet hall, meeting and conference room facilities, a fitness centre, a restaurant, a swimming pool, and a spa, aiming to provide comprehensive amenities for both business and leisure guests.
Strategic Location and Market Demand
The chosen site for the new Lemon Tree Premier hotel in Visakhapatnam is situated 39 kilometres from Visakhapatnam International Airport. Lemon Tree Hotels states that the property also benefits from strong road connectivity, allowing both public and private transport to link it to major Indian cities.
Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President of Lemon Tree Hotels, commented on the strategic importance of this location. He noted that Visakhapatnam serves as a significant economic centre and a thriving tourism destination within Andhra Pradesh.
This dual role, he explained, drives consistent demand across corporate, leisure, and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) segments. The addition of an upscale offering, such as Lemon Tree Premier, in Visakhapatnam allows the company to address a broader spectrum of this demand while deepening its market penetration in a high-growth region.
Broader Expansion and Company Footprint
This Visakhapatnam signing follows other recent expansion announcements from Lemon Tree Hotels. Earlier this week, the company revealed two additional hotel signings in Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. These new projects contribute to Lemon Tree Hotels' substantial and growing portfolio.
The group currently operates over 130 hotels across more than 80 cities in India and internationally. Furthermore, Lemon Tree Hotels has a robust development pipeline, with over 140 upcoming properties planned.
This consistent expansion across various brands and locations underscores the company's aggressive growth strategy within the hospitality sector, aiming to establish a stronger presence in both established and emerging markets across Asia and beyond.
Implications for Travellers and Industry
The introduction of Lemon Tree Premier in Visakhapatnam will provide travellers with an additional upscale accommodation choice in a city that Lemon Tree Hotels identifies as a key economic and tourism hub. For business travellers, the new hotel’s meeting and conference facilities, combined with its road connectivity, will offer enhanced options for corporate events and stays.
Leisure visitors will benefit from the added amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, and diverse dining options. For the regional hospitality industry, this development shows increased competition within Visakhapatnam’s upscale segment.
It also reveals continued investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh's tourism and business potential, potentially driving further development and infrastructure improvements in the area. Industry observers will monitor how this new property affects market dynamics and pricing strategies among existing upscale hotels in the city.
