Marriott International has launched its Marriott Hotels and Marriott Executive Apartments brands in Uganda. This expansion adds two new properties in Kampala, increasing the company's national portfolio.

New Marriott Properties Open in Uganda's Capital

Marriott International has introduced two new properties in Kampala, Uganda, significantly expanding its regional footprint. The Kampala Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala are now operational, marking a notable market entry.

This launch specifically debuts both the Marriott Hotels and Marriott Executive Apartments brands within the country for the first time. With these additions, Marriott’s portfolio in Uganda now totals seven properties, spanning five distinct brands across the nation.

Johan Cronjé, Marriott International Sub-Saharan Africa regional vice-president, commented on the evolving nature of Uganda's tourism and business sectors. He noted a growing demand for diverse hospitality options, which cater to various traveller requirements.

The Kampala Marriott Hotel embodies the brand's enduring legacy of hospitality, offering guests a refined environment where they can both work productively and connect with others, alongside opportunities to unwind.

Kampala Marriott Hotel Amenities and Design

The Kampala Marriott Hotel comprises 181 guest rooms and suites, providing a wide range of accommodation choices. This includes a Presidential Suite, offering elevated comfort. Its architectural design features twin towers, uniquely connected by a distinctive skybridge, creating a striking urban landmark.

Guests can dine at six distinct restaurants and bars on site, presenting diverse culinary experiences. Leisure facilities include the Saray Spa, providing a comprehensive suite of wellness services. Steam and sauna areas are available for guest relaxation and rejuvenation. A modern fitness centre supports guest well-being and exercise routines.

Furthermore, a heated outdoor swimming pool offers recreational opportunities year-round. For events, the hotel provides 1,293 square metres of versatile space, distributed across six distinct venues. The Kampala Grand Ballroom serves as a key feature, capable of hosting up to 1,000 guests for large-scale gatherings.

Marriott Executive Apartments for Extended Stays

Adjacent to the hotel, Marriott Executive Apartments Kampala provides dedicated accommodation specifically for longer stays. It features 96 fully serviced apartments, designed for extended visits. These options range from well-appointed studios to a spacious three-bedroom penthouse, catering to varied needs.

Each apartment includes separate living, dining, and sleeping areas, ensuring comfort and privacy for residents. They are also equipped with full kitchens, allowing for self-catering and a home-like atmosphere. Dedicated work spaces further support business travellers requiring extended productivity.

This multi-branded property is specifically designed to serve Kampala’s expanding business, diplomatic, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sectors. It also effectively caters to the growing leisure travel segment within the city.
