New Premium Facilities in Bangkok
Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has established its presence in Thailand with the launch of two new airport lounges at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. The facilities, named Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First, began welcoming travellers on 4 September 2026. Both lounges are situated airside on the third floor of Concourse G, adjacent to Gate G1.
They serve international departing and transit passengers, irrespective of their airline or travel class. This expansion marks a significant entry for PPG into a vital South-east Asian aviation hub, enhancing the airport's premium service offerings for a diverse global passenger base.
The dual concept provides travellers with distinct choices tailored to varying preferences and needs during their airport stay.
Plaza Premium First: Elevated Service
The Plaza Premium First lounge offers a more personalised service proposition. Spanning 212 square metres, this facility accommodates up to 51 guests. Its amenities include dedicated concierge assistance, bespoke dining options, and a selection of signature cocktails and premium international spirits.
The design of Plaza Premium First focuses on providing spaces conducive to rest, private meetings, and work. This concept aims to deliver an elevated pre-flight or transit visit, catering to guests seeking a quieter, more tailored environment. The smaller capacity supports a greater degree of individual attention for each traveller using the space.
Plaza Premium Lounge: Local Flavour
In contrast, the Plaza Premium Lounge provides a broader array of services with a focus on local Thai elements. This larger facility covers 578 square metres and has a capacity for 98 guests. It features regional Thai dishes served from live cooking stations, allowing guests to observe food preparation.
Seating arrangements within the Plaza Premium Lounge cater to various traveller profiles, including solo passengers, families, and business travellers. This lounge aims to immerse guests in authentic Thai hospitality and cuisine before their onward journey.
The design and service model reflect a commitment to integrating local culture into the airport visit, offering a distinct sense of place.
Strategic Expansion in a Key Hub
Song Hoi See, founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Group, noted Bangkok’s position as a critical hub in South-east Asia. He stated that the introduction of a dual-lounge concept empowers travellers to select a service that aligns with their travel needs. This strategy also allows guests to experience authentic Thai hospitality until their departure.
The launch of these two distinct lounges will intensify competition within Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport’s premium service sector. Travellers can expect enhanced choices and varied amenities, potentially driving further innovation among airport service providers in the region. This development underscores Bangkok’s importance as a global air travel nexus.
