Raffles Unveils Third Saudi Hotel on Shura Island
The luxury brand's latest addition features 121 guestrooms, 14 suites, and 33 private pool villas, with dining and wellness facilities opening in phases.

New Luxury Property at The Red Sea Development
Raffles Hotels & Resorts launched its third property in Saudi Arabia this month, with the opening of Raffles The Red Sea. Located on Shura Island, a key part of The Red Sea development, the resort is set between a tranquil lagoon and the open sea.
Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, stated that this new establishment marks an important expansion for the brand in Saudi Arabia, bringing its distinct character to a compelling new destination. This latest opening follows Raffles Makkah Palace in Mecca and Raffles Jeddah, which began operations in May this year, further solidifying the brand's presence in the Kingdom.
Accommodation and Personalised Service
The Raffles The Red Sea resort offers a range of intimate accommodations, including 121 guestrooms, 14 suites, and 33 private pool villas. Each guestroom opens onto a private terrace with either lagoon or sea views, while suites provide expansive indoor-outdoor living areas oriented towards the surrounding waters.
Guests across all accommodation types will benefit from Raffles' signature Butler Service, designed to provide highly personalised care. Charles Saliba, Managing Director for Raffles The Red Sea and Fairmont The Red Sea, emphasised the resort's commitment to allowing guests to set their own pace and experience the island at their leisure.
Phased Introduction of Dining and Wellness
The resort will introduce its culinary and wellness facilities in phases. Raffles The Red Sea will feature five distinct restaurants and lounges, with menus drawing inspiration from Asian cuisine, Eastern Mediterranean shared-table traditions, and the rich heritage of the Arabian Peninsula. The specialty restaurants and bars are scheduled to welcome guests at a later stage.
Similarly, the Raffles Spa & Wellness centre, alongside an adults' pool, will be unveiled in a future phase. Planned facilities include seven treatment rooms, a hammam, sauna, steam facilities, a vitality pool, and an outdoor lap pool, with private rituals also available.
Implications for Asian Travellers and Industry
The expansion of luxury hospitality brands like Raffles in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea development creates an appealing high-end travel option for affluent Asian travellers. The explicit inclusion of Asian cuisine among the resort's dining options signals an intentional effort to cater to diverse international palates, including those from Asia.
Asian travel operators and agents should observe the phased opening model, which is common in large-scale luxury developments, to understand the full product offering as it becomes available.
This trend of significant investment in luxury tourism infrastructure across the Middle East could attract a new segment of Asian high-net-worth individuals, potentially influencing multi-destination itineraries.
