Red Sea Global (RSG) has opened the Equinox Resort AMAALA in Saudi Arabia. The property began operations on September 4. This development marks Equinox Hotels' second global property. It is also the brand's first location outside the United States. The resort is situated within Marina Village at Triple Bay. This area lies on Saudi Arabia's northwestern Red Sea coast.
RSG, a developer of regenerative tourism destinations, chose Equinox Hotels in July 2023. This selection aimed to establish a wellness-focused property. The opening reinforces AMAALA's position. It becomes a key destination for high-performance living. RSG Group CEO John Pagano stated the resort introduces a distinct dimension. He noted it enhances the destination's wellness offerings.
Accommodation and Amenities
The Equinox Resort AMAALA features 128 rooms and suites. These are spread across six distinct categories. The property also includes two penthouse suites. Additionally, 21 branded residences are available for longer stays. Guests have access to four outdoor swimming pools. A rooftop magnesium salt pool provides another relaxation option. The resort offers various dining venues.
These include Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai, and EQX Den. These establishments provide diverse culinary experiences. The hotel's design was conceived by Foster + Partners. Rockwell Group developed the interior spaces. Red Sea Global stated the design takes inspiration from the Red Sea’s natural landscape. This approach integrates the resort with its surroundings.
Wellness and Design Focus
A significant aspect of the Equinox Resort is its wellness provision. The property houses a 704 square metre indoor and outdoor training space. Red Sea Global states this facility is AMAALA’s largest fitness centre. It supports high-performance living, a core Equinox brand principle. The resort also incorporates a 1,602 square metre spa.
This facility offers advanced treatments and technologies. These amenities aim to provide comprehensive well-being options. The design elements throughout the resort reflect its natural setting. Foster + Partners' architectural vision shapes the hotel's structure. Rockwell Group's interior designs complement this. The overall aesthetic draws from the Red Sea environment.
