Global Travel Survey Underpins Skytrax Results
The 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on a comprehensive survey of more than 24.8 million travellers worldwide. Participants rated over 300 airlines globally between September 2025 and August 2026.
The top 10 airlines globally for 2026 included several prominent Asian carriers: Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, ANA All Nippon Airways, Hainan Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Korean Air.
Other notable Asian airlines also featured strongly in specific categories, with Malaysia Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, EVA Air, STARLUX Airlines, and Thai Airways recognised for their cabin crew, premium economy, and economy class services.
This widespread recognition across various categories highlights the strong competitive landscape within Asian aviation, reflecting high standards of service and passenger offerings.
What the Awards Show for Asia's Travel Sector
Singapore Airlines' repeated success shows its enduring appeal in the global market, particularly as it prepares for new operations at Western Sydney International Airport, scheduled to launch on 23 November 2026. The strong performance of numerous Asian carriers in the 2026 Skytrax Awards reveals the region's continued leadership in service quality and passenger experience.
For industry players, these accolades reinforce brand reputation and can influence market share in highly competitive routes. Travellers benefit from heightened competition, which often translates to improved services and product offerings across Asia's diverse airline landscape.
The awards serve as a key reference point for passengers planning their travel, guiding choices towards airlines with recognised global standards for comfort and reliability.
