Singapore Tourism Board Deepens India Focus After H1 Growth
Singapore recorded substantial Indian visitor numbers and increased tourism receipts in the first half of 2026. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is expanding its long-term strategy for the Indian market, introducing new partnerships, attractions, and targeted campaigns to sustain this growth.

Indian Visitor Arrivals and Revenue Rise
Singapore's tourism sector welcomed over 600,000 Indian visitors during the first half of 2026. This period, from January to June, demonstrates India's growing importance as a key source market. Official figures further reveal a significant increase in tourism receipts from India. In the first quarter of 2026, these receipts rose by 8% year-on-year.
The total reached S$374 million for the quarter. India registered the highest growth in tourism receipts among all of Singapore's source markets during this time. This sustained demand from Indian travellers spans leisure, lifestyle, business, and other tourism offerings.
Strategic Market Engagement by STB
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is strengthening its long-term engagement with the Indian market. This strategy includes forming new partnerships and launching targeted campaigns. The STB aims to attract quality Indian visitors and encourage repeat travel. Efforts also focus on expanding leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism from India.
Furthermore, Singapore is enhancing corporate travel and cruise tourism connections with the country. The board's approach seeks to build stronger relationships with Indian travellers and the travel trade across the subcontinent.
New Attractions and Targeted Campaigns
To encourage repeat visits, Singapore is introducing several new and refreshed attractions. These include Rainforest Wild Adventure and Exploria at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The transformed Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa and the IMBA Theatre at Gardens by the Bay also feature. The city-state's events calendar promotes major sports, music, and lifestyle events.
These include the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix and concerts by international artists. The STB is also targeting younger Indian travellers through its global “We Don’t Wait For Fun” campaign. This initiative promotes entertainment, nightlife, music, food, culture, and lifestyle activities.
Collaborations with Indian artists and media brands, such as Twin Strings, DIVINE, Vogue India, and Esquire India, aim to connect with younger and affluent audiences. The Friends of Singapore 2.0 digital initiative further supports this outreach.
Corporate and Cruise Sector Expansion
Singapore continues to observe strong demand from India's corporate travel sector. Last year, over 6,000 Sun Pharma delegates visited Singapore. This represented one of the largest Indian corporate incentive movements for the country. Other corporate groups from companies like Google India, ICICI Lombard, and Arvind Limited have also travelled to Singapore recently.
The cruise tourism sector is also expanding. Disney Adventure year-round sailings commenced from March 2026. Additionally, Navigator of the Seas will operate from October 2026 to October 2027. The STB has partnered with MakeMyTrip for a pan-India campaign running from July to November 2026.
This campaign promotes Singapore hotel stays and holiday packages of at least four nights. It also reaches MakeMyTrip BLACK users and HSBC Premier members. MakeMyTrip's B2B platform, myPartner, engages travel agents across India.
Outlook for Travellers and Industry
The sustained growth in travel links between India and Singapore suggests increased opportunities for both travellers and the industry. Indian travellers can anticipate more diverse travel packages, new attractions, and expanded cruise options. For the travel industry, this growth supports demand across multiple sectors.
Hospitality, retail, entertainment, events, aviation, and related service industries stand to benefit. The STB's continued focus on long-term engagement with India indicates a sustained effort to attract a significant and growing market segment. This strategy could further solidify Singapore's position as a premier destination for Indian visitors in the coming years.
