The inaugural flight, 8B381, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport carrying 174 Indonesian passengers at full occupancy. Thailand's Tourism Authority (TAT) hosted a welcoming ceremony for the arriving travellers.
Dignitaries present included H.E. Mr. Hari Prabowo, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Thailand, who travelled on the flight. Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, and Datuk Bernard Francis, Aviation Group Chief Executive Officer for TransNusa Airlines, also participated. This new air link introduces 14 flights each week, providing approximately 2,500 inbound seats weekly.
Annually, the route will contribute more than 130,000 seats. TransNusa operates the service using a 174-seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft. This expansion of air travel strengthens connections within Southeast Asia.

The launch of TransNusa Airlines' new service follows earlier strategic agreements aimed at bolstering regional travel. On 4 August 2026, TAT signed separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with both TransNusa Airlines and Traveloka. The agreement with TransNusa Airlines specifically outlines collaboration on destination marketing and travel product development.

Moreover, 53 per cent of these arrivals were repeat visitors to Thailand, demonstrating sustained interest in the country. Leading destinations for Indonesian tourists included major hubs like Bangkok, along with coastal and southern regions such as Songkhla, Chon Buri, Phuket, and Krabi.
Popular activities among this demographic encompassed Thai dining, exploring historical attractions, engaging in community-based tourism, receiving spa treatments, and visiting beaches. This visitor data provides a clear foundation for the expanded air connectivity.
