Vietnam Airlines Expands India Network with New Hanoi–Ahmedabad Route
Vietnam's flag carrier will operate four weekly return flights from 3 November 2026, making Ahmedabad its fifth destination in India and enhancing regional links.
Hanoi–Ahmedabad Service Commences 3 November
Vietnam Airlines will inaugurate non-stop flights connecting Hanoi, Vietnam, with Ahmedabad, India, starting 3 November 2026. The new service will operate four times a week, with round trips scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight VN969 is set to depart Hanoi at 5:35 pm, arriving in Ahmedabad at 9:30 pm local time.
The return flight, VN968, will leave Ahmedabad at 10:45 pm, reaching Hanoi at 4:35 am the following day. Vietnam Airlines publicly announced these flight details on 12 October 2026 via its official social media channels.
Expanding India Footprint
With the addition of Ahmedabad, Vietnam Airlines significantly broadens its presence in the Indian market. Ahmedabad will become the carrier’s fifth destination in India, joining existing services to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This expansion will bring Vietnam Airlines’ total network between Vietnam and India to seven distinct routes.
The strategic move aims to provide travellers with more direct flight options and improved connectivity, facilitating onward travel through the airline’s broader domestic and international network.
Airbus A321 Operations and Cabin Details
The new Hanoi–Ahmedabad route will be operated using Airbus A321 aircraft. According to Vietnam Airlines, these aircraft typically feature a two-cabin configuration. The business class section comprises 16 recliner seats arranged in a 2x2 layout, while the economy cabin offers more than 160 seats in a 3x3 format.
For passenger entertainment, some of these A321 aircraft do not include seat-back screens. Instead, passengers can connect their personal electronic devices to an onboard local network to stream content from Vietnam Airlines’ catalogue directly.
Introductory Fares and Enhanced Connectivity
To mark the launch of the new service, Vietnam Airlines is offering special introductory round-trip fares. These promotional rates are available from VND 6.3 million, which includes all taxes and fees, equivalent to approximately INR 23,105. Bookings for these special fares are open until 31 December 2026, for travel commencing from 3 November 2026.
This new direct link provides a crucial connection for travellers from India’s Gujarat region to Vietnam and beyond, potentially stimulating both leisure and business travel between the two Asian nations.
