Visa Launches New Premium Card Tiers, Expanding in Asia
Visa has introduced Infinite Privilege and Infinite Private, two new credit card tiers above its existing Infinite offering, with UOB initiating a rollout across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam from July 2026.

Visa Introduces New Top-Tier Cards
Visa has expanded its premium credit card portfolio with the introduction of two new tiers, Infinite Privilege and Infinite Private, which now sit above the long-standing Infinite product.
While Infinite Privilege has been available in Canada for more than a decade, with its origins traceable to the 2013–2014 TD Aeroplan rollout, these latest additions represent a significant recalibration of Visa's global premium offerings. The new tiers aim to provide cardholders with enhanced benefits and services, moving beyond the traditional Infinite level.
This strategic move by Visa repositions its top-end products in a competitive market where other payment networks, such as Mastercard, have already introduced their own ultra-premium tiers to cater to affluent travellers and consumers seeking exclusive privileges.
Asia-Pacific Sees Broad Rollout
The Asia-Pacific region is a key focus for Visa's expanded premium lineup, with both Infinite Privilege and Infinite Private introduced this summer. UOB, a prominent regional bank, announced on 16 July 2026, a comprehensive rollout of these new tiers across five key Southeast Asian markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
UOB anticipates that more than 300,000 existing Infinite cardholders within its network will transition to these higher tiers, reflecting a substantial upgrade for a significant segment of its clientele.
Infinite Private, described by Visa as an invitation-only product, is designed for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, promising higher credit limits and a dedicated human concierge service capable of anticipating requests and arranging access to exclusive clubs and galleries.
Enhanced Privileges for Regional Cardholders
The new Visa Infinite Privilege and Infinite Private tiers in Asia offer substantially upgraded travel and lifestyle benefits compared to the standard Infinite card. For airport fast track services, Infinite Privilege cardholders receive two complimentary DragonPass passes annually, an upgrade from the 50% discount offered to Infinite cardholders.
Memberships to loyalty programmes like ALL Accor+ Explorer are also enhanced, with Privilege cards granting a 12-month membership compared to the six-month term for Infinite. Additionally, complimentary Essentialist itinerary planning and Harrods Rewards Gold membership are now included for the higher tiers, which were not part of the announced Infinite package.
These benefits are specifically tied to Asia-Pacific issued cards, meaning US-issued Visa Infinite cards do not qualify for these regional offers.
Implications for Asia's Premium Travel Sector
The introduction of these elevated Visa tiers is set to intensify competition within Asia's premium travel and luxury lifestyle sectors.
With UOB alone projecting over 300,000 cardholders upgrading, airports and hotels across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam can expect increased demand for premium services, including lounge access, priority security lanes, and exclusive hotel amenities.
Operators in these markets may need to adapt their offerings and partnerships to align with the evolving expectations of these high-tier cardholders. This development also presents a challenge for competing payment networks and local banks to match or surpass the new suite of privileges, driving further innovation in the region's affluent consumer market. Asian travellers holding these new cards will find more comprehensive benefits for their travel and lifestyle needs.
