Bilt Rewards Introduces Equinox Wellness Redemptions

Bilt Rewards has announced a new partnership with Equinox, expanding its loyalty programme’s wellness offerings. Members can now convert their Bilt Cash into credits for various Equinox services. These include spa treatments, personal training sessions, and Studio Pilates classes.

This collaboration integrates Equinox directly into the Bilt application, streamlining access for users. Members can manage existing Equinox memberships, browse club schedules, and book appointments through the Bilt platform. The programme’s core condition for Bilt Cash redemption is an active Equinox membership, which has raised specific queries regarding eligibility.

Redemption Tiers and Member Incentives

Bilt Cash redemption limits vary based on a member’s Bilt status. Blue status members can redeem up to $75 per six-month period, totalling $150 annually. Silver members are capped at $100 per six months, allowing for $200 annually. Gold and Platinum status members receive the highest limits, with $150 available every six months, amounting to $300 per year.

These credits are specifically designated for wellness services and cannot be used for membership dues, retail purchases, or cafe items. Any converted credits expire at the end of their respective six-month period. New Equinox members joining via Bilt receive a bonus choice.

Options include 10,000 Bilt points, a complimentary 60-minute personal training session, or a 50-minute spa service. A “Bilt for the Committed” promotion also runs until the end of 2026, offering sweepstakes entries for club check-ins and monthly prizes.

The Membership Clause and American Express Platinum

A key requirement for Bilt Cash redemptions is holding an active Equinox membership. This condition prompts an examination of its interaction with the American Express Platinum Card’s benefits. The Amex Platinum Card provides a $300 Equinox credit, typically used for full club memberships or Equinox+ digital subscriptions.

Historically, some cardholders have managed to apply this credit to Equinox spa services, even without a full club membership. Bilt’s published terms explicitly require an “active Equinox member in good standing” to convert Bilt Cash.

The central question is whether an Equinox+ digital subscription, funded by the Amex Platinum Card, satisfies this active membership criterion within Bilt’s system.

Assessing Future Access to Wellness Benefits

The precise interaction between an American Express Platinum-funded Equinox+ digital account and Bilt’s redemption system remains to be clarified. Bilt’s frequently asked questions distinguish between Equinox members, who can redeem Bilt Cash, and non-members, who can only book spa appointments. An Equinox+ digital subscriber could test this by linking their accounts to Bilt.

A seven-day Equinox+ trial may suffice to determine if the Bilt Wallet displays redemption options. If successful, the Amex Platinum credit could offset the Equinox+ subscription cost, allowing Bilt Cash to fund additional wellness services.

This development could alter how some travellers access premium wellness benefits, depending on how Bilt’s account-linking technology is programmed.
