Cardholder Lounges Return to US Open

Chase and American Express have confirmed their return to the 2026 US Open tennis tournament in New York. Both companies will operate dedicated cardholder lounges and hospitality areas throughout the event. These facilities provide specific access and amenities for eligible customers. The US Open runs from Fan Week, commencing 24 August, through the main draw from 30 August.

Such offerings enhance the event visit for premium cardholders. They also underscore the value propositions of loyalty programmes during major global events. Chase will feature its main lounge and an open-air terrace. American Express plans two distinct lounge spaces, including a Centurion Lounge. These provisions aim to offer comfort and convenience amidst the tournament's busy atmosphere.

Chase Lounge and Terrace Details

Chase will open its dedicated lounge for Fan Week, from 24 to 28 August. During this period, access operates on a first-come, first-served basis, from 11:00 to 14:00 Eastern Time. For the main tournament draw, commencing 30 August, the Chase Lounge requires reservations.

These bookings become available daily at 09:00 Eastern via ChaseGetsYouCloser.com for the subsequent day's sessions. Main draw hours are 10:30 to 16:00 for daytime sessions and 18:00 to 20:30 for evening sessions. The lounge will close for sessions 20 and 22-27. Amenities include matcha lattes, iced blueberry matcha lattes, and matcha popsicles.

Guests can also find light bites, mobile charging stations, live match coverage, and air conditioning. Additionally, Chase operates an open-air terrace at the Grandstand. This terrace offers views of Courts 8-10, seating, and shade. Entry to the Chase Terrace is first-come, first-served upon showing a Chase card. Terrace hours are 11:00 to 17:00 during Fan Week. For the main draw, it operates from 10:00 to 20:00 for Sessions 1-18, closing for Sessions 19-27.

American Express Centurion Lounge Access

American Express will feature two lounges at the 2026 US Open. One key offering is the Amex Centurion Lounge, located on the second floor of Louis Armstrong Stadium. Access to this lounge is available to American Express Platinum Card® and Centurion cardholders. Reservations are mandatory, bookable for one-hour slots via Resy from 09:30 Eastern daily.

Booking commences on 30 August, coinciding with the main tournament draw. Platinum cardholders can reserve for themselves and one guest. Centurion cardholders may book for themselves and up to three guests. The lounge provides a culinary programme with dishes by chefs Kwame Onwuachi and Mike Solomonov from the Culinary Collective.

Guests can also obtain drinks, find seating, and cool off between matches. Cardholders must ensure their eligible American Express card is linked to their Resy account for booking. The Centurion Lounge aims to deliver a premium hospitality setting within the tournament grounds.

Implications for Travellers and Industry

The continued presence of dedicated cardholder lounges at the US Open highlights a trend in premium event hospitality. These offerings provide tangible value for high-tier credit card holders attending major sporting events. Travellers gain access to comfortable, air-conditioned spaces, often with complimentary food and beverages.

This enhances their overall visit to potentially crowded and hot venues. For the travel and financial industries, these lounges serve as a loyalty driver. They reinforce the benefits of specific credit card programmes beyond everyday transactions. Such partnerships between financial institutions and major events are likely to expand.

They cater to a demographic seeking elevated comfort and convenience during their travel and leisure pursuits. This strategy helps card providers differentiate their products in a competitive market.
