Delta Air Lines to Launch Austin-Paris Nonstop, Eyes Seoul Connection
Delta Air Lines will introduce direct flights between Austin, Texas, and Paris, France, from summer 2027. This move reinforces the carrier's strategic expansion in Austin. Discussions also continue for Austin's first transpacific route to Seoul, potentially with Korean Air and Samsung.
New International and Domestic Routes
Delta Air Lines will inaugurate nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). The new route commences in summer 2027. This new transatlantic route forms part of a broader network expansion for the airline. Concurrently, Delta will add a new domestic route connecting Austin with San Diego, California.
Aviation watchdog JonNYC confirmed these additions on 12 August 2026. The Paris flight represents a significant step in Delta's ongoing build-up within the Austin market. Austin's Growing Strategic Importance for Delta

The airline plans to expand to 15 gates with the new concourse expected in the 2030s.

Beyond the new Paris service, Delta is engaged in discussions regarding Austin's first regular transpacific flight. These conversations involve Korean Air and Samsung. They are exploring a potential route to Seoul. Austin currently has several direct European connections. Delta's joint venture partner, KLM, operates three weekly flights to Amsterdam.
British Airways provides service to London, and Lufthansa flies to Frankfurt. Previously, Norwegian Air Shuttle planned a Paris route for summer 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of all Norwegian long-haul operations. Delta's increasing crew bases in Austin make new international routes feasible. A growing local customer base also reduces costs.
