Dextr AI Raises Seed Capital for Global Growth

Dextr AI, a startup specialising in artificial intelligence for the hospitality sector, announced on 25 September 2026 it had secured $6.7 million in a seed funding round. Elevation Capital led the investment, with additional participation from Foundation Capital.

This capital infusion is earmarked by Dextr AI for several key initiatives: accelerating product development, expanding its team, and scaling its AI deployments across international hospitality markets.

India is specifically named as a target region for this expansion, where the company seeks to address operational gaps such as missed calls and staffing shortages within the industry.

Automating Guest and Back-Office Operations

Founded in 2025 by Sajid Shariff and Scott Arnold, Dextr AI develops specialised AI agents designed to manage various functions for hospitality businesses. Its platform automates operations spanning guest reservations, overall guest management, back-office administration, staff rostering, sales, and marketing efforts.

Dextr AI currently serves hundreds of properties across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other European markets. These include franchised locations operating under prominent brands such as Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western, and IHG.

The company reports processing over one million interactions each month and facilitates payment collection for voice-based reservations, handling tens of millions of US dollars monthly for its clients.

Specialised AI Agents and India Market Focus

Dextr AI employs a "forward-deployed" model, where its AI strategists and engineers collaborate directly with hospitality businesses to identify automation opportunities and integrate its agents. The company offers several distinct AI agents: Daisy manages voice reservations, booking modifications, and upselling in more than 90 languages.

Alfred handles guest requests, complaints, and contactless check-ins. Manny is responsible for staff rostering, task allocation, and tracking productivity. Cosmo supports direct bookings through AI-powered search and targeted marketing campaigns to re-engage previous guests.

For its expansion into India, Dextr AI aims to address common operational challenges, including unanswered enquiries and unattended guest requests.

Implications for Asian Hospitality

Elevation Capital’s investment in Dextr AI aligns with its broader strategy of backing companies that automate customer interactions and business workflows through artificial intelligence.

This follows Elevation’s previous investments, such as leading a ₹85 crore Series A round for GreyLabs AI in October 2025, which focuses on voice agents and speech analytics for financial institutions. Elevation also led a $6 million funding round for Adopt AI, a startup that automates software workflows.

For the Asian hospitality sector, particularly in India, Dextr AI’s expansion could offer significant operational improvements.

With a portion of its nearly 20-person team already based in India, the company is well-placed to understand local market needs and provide solutions for staffing issues and guest service demands, potentially setting a precedent for AI adoption in other rapidly growing Asian travel markets.
