Ho Chi Minh City's Landmark 81 Unveils Ultra-Luxury Suite

Ho Chi Minh City's Landmark 81, Vietnam's tallest building, now offers an ultra-luxurious presidential suite commanding a rate of VND220 million, or approximately US$8,500, per night. Located on the 68th floor of the 81-story tower, the expansive 488-square-metre suite provides sweeping 360-degree views of the city.

While the hotel does not publicly list this tariff on its official website, a representative confirmed the nightly cost for a stay. The five-star hotel, which occupies floors 47 and above, features 223 rooms and suites, with this particular presidential suite taking up an entire floor, underscoring its exclusivity and scale within the Vietnamese hospitality market.

Bespoke Design and Premium Amenities

The suite’s interior design emphasises expansive living and privacy, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls that frame vistas of the Saigon River, surrounding residential areas, and the city’s road network. Guests will find distinct zones for relaxation, entertaining, dining, and work, akin to a large private villa.

The main living area boasts high ceilings, a leather sofa set, and armchairs, suitable for both private gatherings and business discussions. According to a hotel representative, the leather sofa set alone represents an investment of around VND1 billion. A dedicated workspace includes a desk and chairs, complemented by a private balcony overlooking the urban scenery.

Adjacent to the living room, a bar, dining room, and pantry are equipped with a separate service entrance, allowing staff to manage catering and refreshments discreetly without intruding on guests’ private spaces.

Exclusive Services and Event Capabilities

The presidential suite offers personalised services designed to cater to a discerning clientele, including custom meals prepared by a private chef and dedicated assistance for business meetings. The layout also supports private events, with a long banquet table area adjacent to the living room configurable for various themes.

The suite can accommodate up to 60 attendees for private parties and corporate functions. Its typical overnight guests comprise business leaders, high-profile politicians, and celebrities who seek both privacy and bespoke service. High-end luxury brands frequently rent the space for exclusive events, leveraging its prestigious setting and comprehensive facilities.

Regional Recognition and Competitive Standing

This year, the 68th-floor presidential suite received its third accolade from the World Travel Awards, often referred to as the 'Oscars of the travel industry,' being named 'Vietnam's Leading Hotel Suite' for 2026. This follows previous wins in 2023 and 2024, affirming its consistent standing in the luxury hospitality sector.

At 488 square metres, the suite is notably larger than comparable presidential accommodations in other prominent five-star hotels across the region, including the 320-square-metre suite at the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, the 260-square-metre offering at Raffles Singapore, and The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur’s 353-square-metre option, positioning it as a substantial luxury choice in Southeast Asia.

Implications for Asia's Luxury Travel Market

For high-net-worth travellers and luxury brands considering premier venues in Southeast Asia, the Landmark 81 presidential suite presents a significant option, combining expansive space with personalised service and regional recognition. Online booking platforms show guests consistently rate the hotel highly for its views, cleanliness, and culinary offerings.

However, some guest feedback highlights practical considerations, such as prolonged elevator wait times and the hotel’s location being somewhat removed from Ho Chi Minh City’s central tourist attractions.

These factors suggest that while the suite excels in opulence and service, prospective guests may weigh convenience against the exclusive experience offered at Vietnam’s tallest building.
