Nuremberg Property Unveiled

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has opened the Leonardo Nürnberg City Center in Germany. This opening follows comprehensive modernisation efforts at the site. The property is the group’s third hotel to operate in Nuremberg. It is also the first of four former IntercityHotel locations now fully integrated into Leonardo’s German portfolio.

The hotel is situated near Nuremberg’s main railway station. This central position supports access for both leisure and corporate travellers. The completion of this project represents a key step in Leonardo Hotels’ expansion strategy. Managing Director Yoram Biton noted Nuremberg's importance to the company. He stated the city now offers diverse accommodation options with three Leonardo Hotels.

Upgraded Facilities

The renovation work encompassed all 158 rooms within the Nürnberg City Center property. Each room now features upgraded soundproof windows. These improvements aim to enhance guest comfort and minimise external noise. Guest facilities include a dedicated breakfast restaurant. An on-site hotel bar also serves visitors.

For business and event clients, the hotel provides four air-conditioned conference rooms. These rooms collectively span approximately 133 square metres. They can accommodate up to 90 attendees for various events. The redesign aligns the property with Leonardo Hotels' brand standards. This ensures a consistent guest stay across the portfolio.

Strategic Acquisition and Rebranding

Leonardo Hotels Central Europe acquired the building in December 2025. At the time of acquisition, it operated as an IntercityHotel. The property remained open during its update and rebranding process. This allowed for continuous operations while aligning with Leonardo Hotels’ brand identity.

The successful integration of the Nürnberg City Center demonstrates progress in the group’s acquisition strategy. Yoram Biton confirmed this property is the first of four acquired hotels to join the portfolio. He added that the modernisation of all four properties advances the company’s German portfolio development. This approach allows Leonardo Hotels to expand its presence efficiently.

Further Portfolio Expansion

The integration of the Nürnberg property precedes further conversions across Germany. Three additional former IntercityHotel sites are currently undergoing rebranding. These hotels are located in Freiburg, Magdeburg, and Erfurt. Leonardo Hotels Central Europe expects to complete their conversion during the third and fourth quarters of 2026.

This phased integration will significantly expand Leonardo’s footprint in key German cities. Separately, earlier this month, Leonardo Hotels Central Europe acquired the former Hilton Evian-les-Bains hotel. This acquisition, located on Lake Geneva’s shores in France, shows the group’s broader European expansion plans. These moves indicate a period of sustained growth for the company.
