Meyer Jabara Hotels has added its first university property to its management portfolio. This new agreement covers the 36-room Reitz Union Hotel in Gainesville, Florida. The hotel is owned by the University of Florida and situated within the Reitz Union Student Centre on campus.
A news release on Tuesday stated that this property is among the few genuine on-campus hotels at a major US college. Chas Henry, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions for MJH, noted this move positions Meyer Jabara as a preferred management partner for academic institutions. The company aims to expand sales, marketing, and revenue management initiatives. It will also assess potential renovation and repositioning opportunities over the next one to two years.

According to a Tuesday news release, the economy extended-stay hotel brand is adding to its existing portfolio of 13 open hotels.
Future locations are planned for Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Each purpose-built property features suites approximately 20% larger than the segment average. These accommodations include full kitchens and dedicated workspaces.
