General Manager for Singapore Launch

Minor Hotels has named Judd Rabbidge as the general manager for its upcoming Avani Singapore Hotel, the group confirmed. This new property marks Minor Hotels' initial entry into the Singapore market, with its debut scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

Rabbidge will be responsible for overseeing the establishment and operations of this significant addition to the city-state's hospitality offerings, a move that expands the brand's presence in a critical Asian travel hub.

Rabbidge's Extensive Hospitality Background

Rabbidge brings over two decades of experience in the hospitality sector, accumulated across diverse markets including Australia, the Maldives, Indonesia, Fiji, and Europe. Prior to this appointment, he served as general manager at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort, a position he held since July 2024.

His career also includes a tenure as hotel manager at W Sydney, where he played a key role in the pre-opening phase and subsequent launch of the 588-room property, according to Minor Hotels. This background provides a strong foundation for his new leadership role in Singapore.

Singapore's Expanding Hotel Landscape

The introduction of Avani Singapore Hotel, under Rabbidge's leadership, shows Minor Hotels' strategic expansion within a key Asian travel hub. The new property, set to open in 2027, will contribute to Singapore's growing inventory of accommodation options, intensifying competition and providing additional choices for both business and leisure travellers.

This development reflects the ongoing appeal of Singapore as a destination for international hotel groups, who continue to invest in the city's hospitality infrastructure, further solidifying its position as a regional tourism magnet.
