Twin Farms, the Relais & Châteaux property in Vermont, has expanded its accommodation offerings. Eight new Treehouses are now available, alongside a cultural series for 2026.
New Treehouse Accommodation Options
Twin Farms, a Relais & Châteaux retreat situated within Vermont’s Green Mountains, has expanded its luxury accommodation. The property now offers eight new Treehouses to guests. These additions increase the resort’s total accommodation units from 20 to 28. Each Treehouse spans 800 square feet and features an open-plan design.
Interiors include a bedroom, living room, dining area, and a bathroom equipped with a soaking tub. An oversized deck provides outdoor space, positioned at eye-level with the surrounding treetops. The Treehouses stand 14 to 20 feet above ground, accessible via a bridge. Michaelis Boyd, an award-winning firm, designed these structures. They integrate natural elements and a wabi-sabi aesthetic, emphasising simplicity and natural beauty.
Introduction of Cultural Programmes
Beyond new accommodation, Twin Farms has introduced a cultural series named “Off Script with Twin Farms” for 2026. This programme features intimate salons with authors, chefs, and industry leaders. Scheduled speakers include author Ben Mezrich, financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin, and the President of Sesame Workshop.
This initiative aims to complement the property’s extensive natural setting with intellectual engagement. The resort already provides a range of activities. Guests can participate in yoga sessions, pickleball, pasta-making and grilling classes, and e-bike tours.
Watercolour painting classes, fly-fishing lessons, and meditative strolls around an on-site labyrinth are also available. The property also houses thousands of books across its rooms and main lodge.
Property Heritage and Amenities
Twin Farms occupies 300 acres of private land, encompassing pine forests, fish-filled ponds, and grassy meadows. The property’s origins trace back to a 1795-era farmhouse. Nobel Prize-winning author Sinclair Lewis acquired the farm in 1928, reportedly at the request of his bride, journalist Dorothy Thompson.
The couple hosted gatherings of poets, politicians, and entertainers during their ownership. Twin Farms began operating as an all-inclusive, adults-only resort in 1993. It has since earned two Michelin keys, attracting guests seeking a blend of outdoor activity and refined hospitality. The resort maintains nine miles of trails for guests to explore. Canoes and paddleboards are also available for use on the property’s ponds.
