Air Astana, Kazakh Tourism Launch Joint 2027 Promotion
Kazakhstan's national airline and tourism board, alongside five regional administrations, will pool resources for international marketing initiatives throughout 2027 to boost inbound visitor numbers.

Strategic Pact for 2027 Inbound Travel
Air Astana and Kazakh Tourism, the national airline and tourism board respectively, have formalised a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at increasing inbound tourism and passenger traffic to Kazakhstan.
The agreement was signed in Almaty on 21 September 2026, bringing together both entities with the Akimats of Astana and Almaty, as well as the regional administrations of Almaty, Akmola, and Mangistau.
This partnership sets the stage for collaborative international marketing efforts planned for the entirety of 2027, focusing on promoting Kazakhstan as a key travel destination in global markets.
Coordinated Marketing and Resource Pooling
Under the terms of the new agreement, Air Astana, Kazakh Tourism, and the five participating regions will combine their marketing, communications, and organisational resources.
The joint initiatives for 2027 are set to include a range of promotional activities, such as digital campaigns targeting international audiences, participation in major international travel exhibitions, and a series of roadshows.
Furthermore, the collaboration will facilitate familiarisation trips for overseas trade partners and media representatives, organise business-to-business (B2B) events, and conduct market analysis to pinpoint priority source markets for inbound travellers.
Aligning Destination Promotion with Air Network
The partnership will also strategically align Kazakhstan's destination marketing efforts with Air Astana's existing international flight network. This integrated approach seeks to elevate global awareness of Kazakhstan's offerings and directly stimulate increased inbound travel.
Talgat Gazizov, Chairman of Kazakh Tourism, stated that developing inbound tourism requires a coordinated effort, and this collaboration would help raise the nation’s profile in key international markets.
Ibrahim Canliel, CEO of Air Astana, added that the aim is to make Kazakhstan more accessible to international travellers and promote its cultural heritage and diverse attractions.
Outlook for Kazakh Tourism Development
The combined resources and expertise are expected to attract a greater number of international visitors to Kazakhstan starting from 2027. This influx of tourism is projected to support the growth of tourism-related businesses and services across the country.
For travellers from Asia and beyond, the initiative suggests potentially more visible and accessible travel options to Kazakhstan, with increased promotional activities making the destination's appeal clearer.
The success of these joint campaigns will be measurable by the increase in passenger traffic on Air Astana's international routes and the overall growth in visitor arrivals reported by Kazakh Tourism in the coming years.
