Singapore Tourism Board, Universal Music Partner for Global Promotion
The three-year agreement with Universal Music Singapore aims to boost the city-state's appeal through music-led campaigns, targeting travellers and artistes across Asia.

STB, Universal Music Sign Three-Year Pact
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Universal Music Singapore (UMSG), a division of Universal Music Group, recently formalised a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement, signed on 18 September 2026, sets out to promote Singapore as a travel destination through a series of music-led tourism campaigns and immersive cultural experiences.
The collaboration seeks to integrate STB's established destination marketing initiatives with UMSG’s extensive international artiste network, deep audience insights, and diverse media platforms, aiming to broaden Singapore’s appeal to a global audience.
Integrated Campaigns and Fan Engagement
Under the terms of the MoU, both organisations will develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns designed to draw travellers to Singapore. These efforts will include fan engagement activities and strategic collaborations with various travel partners.
The overarching goal is to strengthen Singapore’s visibility and allure among global travellers, positioning the city-state as a hub for entertainment and cultural exploration.
This partnership will also facilitate the creation of opportunities for both local and international artistes to participate in projects that highlight Singapore’s unique cultural fabric, entertainment scene, and lifestyle offerings.
Leveraging Past Successes and Artiste Opportunities
The collaboration builds on several successful prior projects involving UMSG artistes. These include Nick Jonas's appearance at Singapore Art Week, social content created by OneRepublic linked to their instrumental track ‘Singapore’, and a live performance by Billie Eilish filmed at the iconic Gardens by the Bay.
These previous engagements have demonstrated the potential of music to connect with audiences and promote destinations. The new partnership is expected to expand on these foundations, offering more structured opportunities for artistes to engage with Singapore's diverse offerings and for audiences to experience the city through a musical lens.
Focus on Asian Audiences and Changing Interests
Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive of the Marketing Group at STB, stated that this collaboration reflects a shift in consumer interests, with audiences increasingly drawn to entertainment and lifestyle-driven experiences.
Calvin Wong, CEO, Southeast Asia & Korea and SVP Asia at Universal Music Group, added that music continues to play a significant role in shaping how audiences connect with destinations and cultural experiences.
The partnership is specifically expected to support destination storytelling through music, creating avenues for artistes and audiences across Asia to engage with Singapore via cultural and entertainment-led experiences. This focus aims to deepen the connection between Singapore and its key regional markets.
