South Africa launched its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system in October 2025 and declared it fully rolled out as of 28 April 2026. Current eligibility is restricted to citizens of China, India, Indonesia, and Mexico only. The system permits online application, biometric submission, and single-day or real-time approval, valid for multiple entries up to 90 days per visit (with one 90-day extension available). South Africa plans to expand ETA to additional nationalities later in 2026. Entry points include major airports (OR Tambo Johannesburg, Cape Town) with dedicated ETA processing lanes. Traditional visa requirements remain for non-eligible nationalities.

Most foreign tourists require a visa or e-Visa to enter Egypt. Tourists can obtain a visa on arrival at Egyptian airports and border crossings for $30 USD cash (single-entry, 30-day validity) or apply online for an e-Visa in advance (typically $25, processing 5–7 days). Passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the planned entry date. Exemption: short stays limited to Red Sea resorts (Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, Taba) qualify for a 15-day free entry stamp but prohibit travel to Cairo or Luxor. Yellow fever vaccination may be required depending on point of origin.

Kenya transitioned to a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system in January 2024, entirely replacing the visa-on-arrival. All international visitors (except EAC members and most African Union citizens) must obtain an approved eTA prior to boarding. The eTA is applied for online and costs $32.50. Processing takes 24–72 hours; applicants must submit passport photo, passport details, accommodation address, and travel dates. Entry requirements: passport valid 6+ months, printed eTA approval, return/onward ticket, and yellow fever certificate if arriving from endemic regions. No recent changes in 2025–2026; system is stable.

Morocco offers visa-free entry for 90 days to citizens of the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, and numerous other countries. New 2026 additions to visa-free list include Kazakhstan, Albania, Benin, and Madagascar. For countries not on the visa-free list, the official Morocco e-Visa (applied via acces-maroc.ma) provides single-entry authorisation valid 180 days from issue, permitting stays up to 30 days. E-Visa processing: 24 hours (Express) to 72 hours (Standard). Passport must be valid 3–6 months from arrival and have at least one blank page. Completed arrival/embarkation card required at entry. No major policy changes in 2025–2026; system remains stable.
